Introduction:
Mano Lani has an opening for a Military Operations Analyst to join our rapidly growing team in the Colorado Springs, CO area. This position will provide support for the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Space and Missile Defense Center of Excellence, and Space and Missile Defense School. The objective of this effort is to ensure superior education and training on all elements of space and missile defense and real-world operational requirements. Duties:
The Operations Analyst is the overarching general specialist. The operations analyst develops and revises supporting work plans; prepares task order plans; conducts reviews and edits documents. The operations analyst proposes innovative approaches to technical problems; drafts statements of work; develops requirements documents and concept of operations documents; develops operations manuals; conducts site surveys, writes after action reports; participates in meetings and telephone conferences with customers; writes meetings summaries, progress reports, and position papers. The operations analyst prepares briefings and reports; conducts presentations; conducts analysis; develops work plans, schedules, and budget estimates; attends conferences and exchanges technical data, and provides general scientific, engineering and technical assistance.
• Conduct operational assessments, mission analysis, and scenario development in support of space, missile defense, or joint operations
• Analyze operational data to support strategic decision-making and capability development
• Assist in the development of operational concepts (CONOPS), Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), and warfighting integration
• Provide input to planning documents, briefings, and reports for senior leaders and operational stakeholders
• Collaborate with SMEs, mission planners, and intelligence professionals to support mission rehearsal and training exercises
• Support wargames, tabletop exercises, and simulations to evaluate operational plans and validate mission effectiveness
• Track and evaluate operational risks, gaps, and performance metrics to inform decision-makers
• Maintain awareness of emerging threats, operational environments, and force modernization initiatives
Qualifications:
• Mid-level: 5+ years experience.
• Demonstrated experience in military operations analysis, joint planning, or space/missile defense operations
• Familiarity with DoD planning processes (e.g., JPP, MDMP) and strategic documents (e.g., NSS, NDS)
• Strong understanding of operational-level command structures (e.g.,
USSPACECOM, STRATCOM, JFCC IMD, or combatant commands)
• Experience with modeling, simulation, or mission rehearsal tools (e.g., JCATS, AFSIM, JSAF) is a plus
• Ability to prepare and deliver clear, concise briefings to senior military and civilian audiences
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with attention to operational detail and relevance
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, classified environments
• Prior experience supporting USASMDC, SMDC/ARSTRAT, USSPACECOM, or related operational commands
• Knowledge of Missile Defense (MD), Missile Warning (MW), or space-based systems and operations
• Familiarity with Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) and space domain awareness (SDA)
• Experience supporting training exercises, operations centers, or operational testing environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex material to diverse military audiences
Required Education/Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Space Studies, Engineering, Military Science, Instructional Technology, or similar)
• Graduate-level education preferred (e.g., Master’s in National Security, Education, or Space Operations)
• Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I or II
• Certified Modeling and Simulation Professional (CMSP) or similar analytical credentials (optional)
Security:
Requires the applicant to possess and maintain an active TS/SCI for the position. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.

Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25 lbs.
